What is Dial-Assist?

Dial-Assist is a dialysis adherence tracking app designed to help you maintain your prescribed dialysis treatment schedule. It provides:

  • Step-by-step voice-guided procedures
  • Session tracking and analytics

  • Report generation and sharing

It's a tool to support your treatment adherence, not a medical device or replacement for professional medical care.

Is Dial-Assist a medical device?

No. Dial-Assist is an adherence tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not:

  • Provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
  • Monitor vital signs or medical conditions
  • Alert emergency services
  • Replace your healthcare provider's instructions

Always follow your healthcare provider's prescribed treatment plan and consult them with any medical questions.

How much does Dial-Assist cost?

Dial-Assist offers a 14-day free trial so you can experience all features risk-free. After the trial, the subscription is $1.99 per month.

You can cancel anytime—no long-term commitment required.

What devices are compatible with Dial-Assist?

Dial-Assist requires:

  • iOS 17.0 or later
  • Compatible with iPhone and iPad

The app is optimized for the latest iOS versions and takes advantage of native Apple features like speech recognition and camera integration.

Is my health data private and secure?

Yes, absolutely. Your privacy is our top priority:

  • All health data is stored locally on your device
  • We do not collect or transmit your personal health information to external servers
  • Data is encrypted using iOS built-in security
  • You have complete control to view, edit, export, or delete your data at any time

Can I share my session data with my healthcare provider?

Yes. Dial-Assist allows you to generate PDF reports of your sessions and email them directly to your healthcare providers. This happens only when you explicitly choose to share, using your device's native email app.

How do I backup my data?

Your Dial-Assist data can be backed up in two ways:

  • iCloud Backup: If you have iCloud backup enabled on your device, your App data is automatically included in your device backups
  • Export: You can export your session data as PDF reports for your own records

Note: Deleting the app will delete all locally stored data unless you have an iCloud backup.

What types of dialysis does the app support?

Dial-Assist currently supports home hemodialysis (HD) procedures. The app provides customizable step-by-step guidance that can be tailored to your specific prescribed treatment protocol.

How does voice guidance work?

Dial-Assist uses your iPhone or iPad's built-in text-to-speech functionality to provide voice guidance during your dialysis procedure. This allows you to:

  • Navigate through treatment steps hands-free
  • Maintain sterility during procedures
  • Use voice commands to control the app

All voice processing is done on-device for privacy. You can enable/disable voice features in Settings.

Can I track my dialysis supplies?

Yes. Dial-Assist includes supply inventory management features:

  • Scan barcodes to identify and track medical supplies
  • Monitor inventory levels
  • Generate supply order emails when running low
  • Access FDA GUDID database for device information
What should I do if the app isn't working properly?

If you're experiencing issues with Dial-Assist:

  • Restart the app: Close completely and reopen
  • Update iOS: Ensure you're running the latest iOS version
  • Update the app: Check the App Store for app updates
  • Check permissions: Ensure the app has necessary permissions (camera, microphone, speech recognition) in Settings
  • Contact support: Email us at support@dial-assist.app with details about the issue
How do I delete my data?

To delete your data:

  • Delete specific sessions: Swipe left on any session in the app and tap Delete
  • Delete all data: Go to Settings > Delete My Data in the app
  • Uninstall the app: Deleting the app from your device will remove all locally stored data

Note: This action cannot be undone unless you have an iCloud backup.

I have a medical emergency. Can Dial-Assist help?

NO. Do not rely on Dial-Assist for medical emergencies.

In case of medical emergencies or urgent health concerns:

  • Call 911 immediately (in the United States)
  • Contact your healthcare provider
  • Go to the nearest emergency room

Dial-Assist is a tracking tool only and does not monitor your condition or alert emergency services.
